The First Campagn

The Elder Board members wish to thank you all for your prayers, giving, faithfulness and weekly labor in ministry throughout the church year. The body of LRC has been hard pressed this season with securing regular worship space and staffing, increased labors in weekend trucking, and more delays in our dream to build.

But, God is still moving in our midst even through these church challenges and troubles galore in our world. We believe we are being led by the Lord to bring to you the words of Matthew 6:33, where Jesus exhorts the faithful to not worry about tomorrow, but to “…seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

God has impressed on our hearts the need to put Him FIRST as we close out 2023 in the expectation and hope that God will go above and beyond in meeting the needs of our church and families.

Therefore, we call on you, the faithful body of Living Rock Church to join the elder board in an end-of-year, all-out blitz, in adopting these “firsts” for next two months:

  1. Worshipping Sundays. We call on the body to gather the first day of the week for worship and connection. Let’s fill up the new chairs, and especially our education time for children, students, and adults.
  2. Tithing Two Months. We challenge those in our body who are able to give 10% of our first fruits -- a tithe of our income. We desire that our body experience the joy of giving first to the Lord’s work. Some may feel 10% is out of reach, so please consider a smaller percent as God would lead you.
  3. Gifting a New Chair ($100). When the elders decided in August to purchase new chairs, we not only looked for chairs in compliance with the new gym floor, but we intentionally looked to own chairs and carts fit for the new building. These chairs were purchased out of our General Fund reserves. Gifting $100 for a chair gives you and your family tangible ownership in this future investment and a place for others to come and worship for years to come.
  4. Inviting Others. Now that our people are regathering after a disruptive summer, and we know where we are meeting Sundays, we ask that you invite others to come and worship with us on Sundays and other gatherings. Our best advertising is our people inviting others.

Some may be thinking that these are difficult “firsts” to put into action. Ephesians 3:20 challenges us to imagine even more.

“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Jesus Christ through all generations, forever and ever.” 

Prayerfully consider what God can do in our families and our church as we all Seek God First in closing out the year.
