Did you know that the Bible offers 500 verses on prayer, less than 500 verses on faith, but more than 2,000 verses on money and possessions? In fact, Jesus Himself has more to say about money than any other subject besides the Kingdom of God. Why do suppose that is? Money represents our life’s efforts. And He knows that “Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be (Matt 6:21). We give to the work of God’s expanding Kingdom as an indicator that all we have is truly His to do with as he sees fit, and as a demonstration of faith that we trust Him to supply all our needs.
