Our summer intern, Levi Magruder, began work at the LRC office on June 11. Levi will be serving in a variety of roles on Sunday mornings and throughout the week, including assisting with worship leadership, running the sound system, set-up and tear-down, and more. Levi was recently married to Ashley and they attend and live at Crown College. Welcome, Levi and Ashley- we’re happy to have you here!
Pray Big Sermon Series is now available for listening on SoundCloud. Sermon notes are linked to each sermon.

Everyone experiences loss and change. The way we transition through the grief makes a big difference in our future. Good grieving takes us to the bottom of our sadness and losses, like going to the bottom of a swimming pool. The bottom is not much fun, but there you can push off and begin to recover and heal. Joy returns in time. However, too many people take a shortcut in grieving. They don’t get to the bottom of their sadness and losses. Instead, they swim to the other side of the pool and actually lengthen the grieving process. Unresolved grief means that joy and energy never return (see yellow below). Sadness becomes the norm going forward. There is a big difference between good and bad grieving!
GRIEFSHARE is a grief support ministry, sponsored by Living Rock Church. This is a positive, uplifting, caring group in which you can learn how to deal with the emotions and challenges that come through loss. GriefShare sessions are about 90 minutes each week. Respected grief experts teach by DVD. Real-life stories are shared. Biblical teaching is provided followed by small group discussion about the topics presented (with workbook support). The workbook also provides a brief daily Bible study.
Each GriefShare session is beneficial in finding encouragement and in learning how to recognize the symptoms of being stuck in grief. You need not attend all 13 weeks to benefit as each lesson stands on its own. Many take GriefShare more than once. GriefShare equips you with valuable information on coping skills and facing life situations, and you’ll gain renewed hope for the future. These sessions are open to any adult regardless of whether your experience is recent or not so recent.
Look for GriefShare coming to Living Rock Church this summer, 2019.
